For as long as our kind have gazed upon the heavens, peering at celestial bodies burning across the night sky, we have loved adorning ourselves with shiny objects. No other material possessions of ours quite signified our ultimate expression of our homage to nature. It is a humbling prospect that even the process of embellishing our own person with gems and precious metals is an ancient evolution that predates the existence of life on our planet as we know it. These metals, these stones that we find in the inner bowels of the earth have formed long before and are likely to endure for eons long after us. These rocks we find in the ground are but lumps of primordial minerals that over long expanses of time coagulate into rough stones. It is through the loving care of a craftsman that hones a gem with precision to give it the perfect setting. Only then can we admire to the fullest the beauty of a piece, that when caught by the right light burns with brilliance and utter exquisiteness. To me, that is why this affair is unmistakably fascinating.

There is a muddled demarcation between Gerard the man and Gerard the brand that is Pomp & Regalia. I never really grew up with much, but I have always sort of styled myself as an arbiter of taste. I imagined that there was this sort of lifestyle in polite society that I wasn’t being a part of. My fascination with jewelry started at a young age. In hindsight, I remember clearly, my great-uncle whom lived in a disheveled dwelling in the countryside showed me something I would not have expected from a man of his stature. Hidden beneath the floorboards was a shoebox sized crate. In it, several archaic war trinkets. One item in particular caught my attention. Wrapped in a begrimed cloth was a small mason jar filled with gold flakes. By his account, it was his share of the fabled Yamashita treasure.

From then on I was hooked. In my journey of discovering my place in the world, I have had a number of careers that have in a way lead to finding my calling. As a young man, I enlisted in the U.S. Armed Forces. After a decade of service, I found myself reaching back to my dream of creating art in different forms. I asked myself, “Well, what am I really all about?” At a point, I felt like I needed direction, then all of the sudden, a moment of perfect clarity. Whether it was making a movie, painting a masterpiece, building a brand. I knew that I was meant to tug on the heartstrings of people to elicit an emotional response. I was meant to create art that would surpass my mortal avatar.

For all the women that I have ever loved before, I enjoyed gifting them fine jewelry as a token of my affection for them. I soon realized that I quite enjoyed the complexity of the buying and customization experience. I also have always had an affinity for beautiful women. It was were I got my start in the entertainment industry. I have held a number of executive positions for a number of national beauty pageant contests and continue to do so. I have helped organize a number of fashion shows for a number of high profile fashion designers. I have been an Art Director, Production Designer, and Casting Director for a number of TV and Motion Picture projects. I have become a National Talent Director for the most prestigious performing arts center in the whole of the world.

If I have learned something from all of my experiences in my various titles in the entertainment and high fashion industries, it is that trends will come and go; style, quality, and luxury are words that will be abused, but some things will remain constant. It is that treasures in the form of jewelry stand the test of time. It has the ability to take a beautiful woman or man and max them out, that when they enter a room, everything in space and time momentarily freezes. They percolate of wealth and success. They are the decorations of royalty, spoils of a bygone era when wars were waged to come into possession of these fortunes. That is why fine jewelry will always be timeless. They are heirlooms that carry a message, a story, a tradition, a legacy. Everything in my life has culminated to this point. It brings me great pleasure to present and make available to you my collection of fine treasures. Crafted for you right here in the United States. Gilded artisan fine jewels, Pomp & Regalia.
